I am an accredited MHFA Instructor and I am totally committed to making workplaces kinder and happier places to be. I train the NHS, education trusts, PLCs, district councils and many businesses large and small.
Work-related stress, depression and anxiety accounted for 51% of work-related ill health and 55% of working days lost in 2019/20 equating to 17.9 million working days. Mental ill health costs UK employers an estimated £42 billion per year through lost working days, staff turnover and lower productivity but the human cost is even greater.
Mental illness is the second largest source of burden of disease in England and 1 in 4 of us will experience mental health issues each year.
Mental Health First Aid training enables us to really listen, show empathy, reduce stigma, promote wellbeing and provide the resources and confidence to guide our loved ones, friends and colleagues to professional support.
We are all on a continuum of mental health and like all of us I’ve had my own journey. I've been a Mental Health First Aider for many years initially as an advocate for children in the care system and then supporting the wellbeing of employees in a large organisation. It is so important that employers are equipped to offer the best support to their teams and having Mental Health First Aiders within organisations is a huge benefit and proven to be effective.
What matters most to me is that people are treated with kindness and respect whatever journey they are on. I'd love to share my passion for this with you...
